A certain cinematic mood and emotion are evident on the songs of Rihmat, which stems from the fact that most of the albumʼs songs were originally composed for two different documentary films. For Cracking Sound (2019) Koskiniemi composed Olento and Rihmat, whereas Koneet and Alati levinnyt were scored for Yötyön Zen (They Go Gentle Into That Night Work) (2020). Nauha21012020 on the other hand is the culmination of different sounds created over the years.

The tone of Rihmat is twofold: where Koneet and Rihmat have a sense of mostly slow, yet constant motion and restlesness, Alati levinnyt and Olento represent stagnancy, with the latter sounding like a Mika Vainio piece that was forgotten in a dusty attic, frozen in time. Nauha21012020 dwells in its own melange of abstract ripples of sound and broken-down melancholy.
